Modern Art Masterpiece Discovered in LACMA Bathroom

Written by  Matthew Kahn

Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles County Museum of Art officially added a new piece to its collection yesterday evening.  But unlike the works of masters such as Renoir and Cézanne, whose paintings hang in the museum, this new art uses the museum itself as a canvas.  The discovery of this piece, being hailed as the crowning achievement of the modern art movement, occurred through sheer coincidence one month ago by Dr. Raymond Kingsley, Professor of Modern art at the University of Southern California.  Dr. Kingsley said of the find:

“I had just finished leading a group of students on a tour of the museum, and I rather desperately needed to relieve myself.  It seems that I had picked a popular time for such a diversion, as the men’s room was unusually crowded.  After a more than reasonable wait, I entered the stall nearest the door, and as I was finally enjoying the benefits of indoor plumbing, I noticed a remarkable piece of art, directly at eye level.”

Stanley Eccleston, art critic and author of “The Brilliance of Monochromatic Splatter,” lauded the piece as being, “a scathing look into what makes us tick.  Through its simplicity, [the artwork] manages to hit us on an instinctual level.  It’s quite fantastic.”  Yet amid the hullabaloo surrounding this new masterpiece, no artist has stepped forward to take credit for his or her work.  “It is bound to be one of the greatest mysteries of our generation.”

The section of the stall on containing the work has been removed from the bathroom, and is now displayed in a position of prominence near the museum’s entrance.  The Leaky Wiki has been exclusively granted the privilege to display the image here.  (NOTE: Due to the provocative nature of the image, it has been lightly censored.).
