‘Hunger Games’ Author Reveals Concerns Over Title-related Puns

Written by  Owen Flanagan IV

During an interview to promote the recent adaptation of her book The Hunger Games, author Suzanne Collins revealed to the Leaky Wiki that she’s worried about media outlets and the press using the title of her book for puns. “I hadn’t really thought about it when I named the book,” said Collins, “I mean, it wasn’t really an issue at first but now that it’s a movie, I have a feeling that every magazine, newspaper, and dotcom is going to try and fit the Hunger Games into some kind of pseudo-clever pun to title their articles.”

Perhaps Collins’ worries are not unjustified, as at the time of this publication, titles such as “’Hunger Games’ fulfills midnight cravings” have already reached circulation.

“It’s only going to get worse as the movie gains popularity,” Collins warned, “I’m expecting a pun related to the box office by Monday. Probably something along the lines of “’The Hunger Games eats up the competition opening weekend.’ Don’t write that down!” Collins went on to say, “I don’t know how, but it’s something we need to stop. Puns are the lowest form of humor, and I don’t want my stories to have any part of it. God, can you imagine what they’re going to do if ‘Catching Fire’ gets adapted?”

Collins is considering her options at this time, including starting an advocacy group against puns, so that other authors like her wouldn’t be subjected to cringe-inducing phrases such as “Fans of all ages crave ‘The Hunger Games’.”

Note to the Editor:
We should definitely consider something clever for the title of this article, here’s a couple I’m thinking:
